Cincinnati FARU vs Covington, Newport, Fort Thomas, and Florence: Ohio paper, Kentucky desks
Closing week is when someone hands you a PDF from the wrong riverbank. Cincinnati homeowners search “Covington KY alarm permit,” “Newport alarm registration,” “do I need an alarm permit in Cincinnati,” and “is Northern Kentucky the same as Hamilton County.” The desks are not the same. The City of Cincinnati’s False Alarm Reduction Unit, independent Ohio cities, Hamilton County townships, and Northern Kentucky halls do not share one form. Home Security Systems Cincinnati names the office from your ZIP. You file it. SafeStreets installs. ADT monitors 24/7.
Call (513) 960-6003 for the quote. This article is the comparison. It is not a promise that we filled out the paper for you, and it is not a place we invent dollar amounts for Kentucky cities that have not published a simple residential user-permit price we can stand behind. Duke Energy Ohio serves Hamilton, Butler, Warren, and Clermont on this side. Duke Energy Kentucky serves the NKY addresses we quote. Confirm the ZIP so the utility sentence and the desk sentence both match the house.
Start with the ZIP, then the city limit, then the river
A 45202 Downtown mailing is City of Cincinnati. A 45208 Hyde Park mailing is usually City of Cincinnati. A 41011 Covington mailing is Kentucky. A 41071 Newport mailing is Kentucky. A 41075 Fort Thomas mailing is Kentucky. A 41042 Florence mailing is Kentucky. People guess from a map pin or from where they work. Do not. Say the street on the 513 call.
Norwood 45212 is its own city. Blue Ash 45242, Montgomery 45242, Madeira 45243, Indian Hill 45243, Mariemont 45227, Wyoming 45215, Sharonville, Forest Park, Loveland, Milford, Mason 45040, West Chester 45069, Fairfield — independent Ohio desks or township desks, not FARU by default. Anderson Township, Delhi Township, and Green Township are township paper, not a City of Cincinnati stamp. A Mason shopper who lives in West Chester is still a Butler County conversation. A Hyde Park worker who drives to Florence is still an Ohio house until the address is Kentucky.
The truck can still go to the right house while you file the wrong paper if you copy a neighbor. The neighbor’s desk is not your desk. We serve this Ohio Cincinnati window same-day or next-day when the calendar is open. Northern Kentucky coverage is confirmed from the ZIP and the window is said on the call. We do not pretend the river is a suggestion.
City of Cincinnati FARU: Chapter 807, registration required, no invented annual fee
Inside the City of Cincinnati, a monitored residential alarm needs registration with the False Alarm Reduction Unit under Chapter 807. That requirement is real. The city stopped collecting the old biennial user-registration fee on March 15, 2022. We will not invent a current annual permit dollar amount the city is not collecting. Registration is still the process. FARU is (513) 352-1272. File after the system is live in your name. The last owner’s confirmation is not yours. A builder leftover is not registered just because plastic is on the wall.
False alarms on a registered City of Cincinnati system, in a 365-day window: first and second are $0, third is $50 (a class may waive that third), then $75 / $100 / $150 / $200 / $300 / $400 / $500 / $800. Unregistered systems: $100 penalty plus $800 per false alarm. New installs get a 30-day grace. Those are the numbers we will stand behind because they are the city’s published ladder. A professionally installed system with a walkthrough is how you stay in the $0 bracket. A scared DIY kit with no delay is how you meet Cincinnati Police for a toaster.
Downtown, Over-the-Rhine, Mount Adams, Hyde Park, Oakley, Clifton, Northside, Westwood, Price Hill, College Hill, Mount Washington — if the address is City of Cincinnati, FARU is the desk. Norwood is not. Independent cities are not. Communities names the neighborhood. The ZIP names the hall.
Hamilton County townships and ORC 505.511
Many unincorporated and township addresses in this metro fall under Ohio Revised Code 505.511 after three false alarms: $50, then $100, then $150. That is a false-alarm bill after repeated responses, not a City of Cincinnati FARU registration. Anderson Township has a published twist: the fourth and fifth are waived, then $150. We will not copy Anderson’s waiver onto Delhi, Green, or West Chester. We will not copy FARU’s $800 unregistered hit onto a township street.
Delhi Township, Green Township, Anderson Township, Colerain, Springfield Township streets that are not an independent city — confirm the township from the ZIP. A Mount Washington mailing can still be city. An Anderson mailing can be township. The specialist would rather be boring than send you to the wrong portal. Anderson Township, Delhi, and Green Township are occupancy pages. This page is who would bill a false alarm.
West Chester is Butler County. Mason is Warren County. Those are not Hamilton County township forms. Same instruction: name the office, do not invent the user-permit dollar.
Independent Ohio cities: name the hall, skip the invented table
Norwood, Blue Ash, Montgomery, Madeira, Indian Hill, Mariemont, Wyoming, Sharonville, Forest Park, Loveland, Milford, Mason, Fairfield, and other independent Ohio cities run their own police or their own process. People want a tidy fee table. We will not fake the missing cells. City of Cincinnati FARU’s registration-without-a-current-annual-dollar, the published false-alarm ladder, ORC 505.511’s $50 / $100 / $150 after three, and Anderson’s waived fourth and fifth are the Ohio numbers we can stand behind. Everything else is “confirm the office.” That sentence is the product of this page.
Indian Hill lots and Mariemont streets often have a second layer — a board or a village aesthetic rule — that is not alarm paper. Camera rules is that article. Do not hand the architectural committee a FARU PDF and call it a camera permit. Do not hand FARU an HOA approval and call it registration.
Mason 45040 leftover keypads are common. Photograph them. Order monitoring. Then file Mason’s process, not Cincinnati’s. Builder leftovers is the hardware.
Covington, Newport, Fort Thomas, Florence: confirm ZIP, do not invent Kentucky dollars
Covington has erroneous-activation ordinance language. We will name that. We will not invent a Covington residential permit dollar amount. Confirm Covington’s office from ZIP 41011. If they want keyholder information, give it. Do not file Cincinnati FARU as a substitute and assume Kenton County is Hamilton County. Covington is the neighborhood page. This paragraph is the desk.
Newport 41071, Fort Thomas 41075, and Florence 41042 are independent Kentucky cities. Confirm Newport, Fort Thomas, or Florence from the ZIP. We will not invent a residential user-permit dollar amount for those halls on this site. If that office has a registration or false-alarm process, they will tell you. We name the office. You call them. You file what they actually require this year. Newport, Fort Thomas, and Florence still get the same professionally installed system and the same ADT 24/7. The paper is the only part that is not Ohio.
Duke Energy Kentucky is the utility sentence on that side of the river. Cellular backup is still the question: if power or internet drops, can ADT still see the door? Do not talk Duke Energy Ohio on a Fort Thomas house. Do not talk AES Ohio anywhere in this metro. AES is not the utility we quote here.
What the 513 quote actually says about paper
The specialist will not hide it. You hear monthly price, $99 install on many plans, the free alarm-system promo ($850 value) on qualifying monitoring* if it applies, 36-month agreement, early termination fee, and which office to confirm. ADT Secure $49.99/mo*, Secure+ $53.99*, Smart $60.99*, Complete $64.99*. Offers are for homeowners. House versus condo. Cameras yes or no. Leftover keypad photo. Then the desk. The four numbers live on monitoring packages. What ADT costs is the money.
We do not collect a Cincinnati FARU fee as part of the monitoring bill — and as of March 15, 2022 there is no biennial user-registration dollar for us to collect anyway. We do not collect a Covington fee we have not named. We do not collect a Newport, Fort Thomas, or Florence fee we have not named. The user’s paper is the user’s. That is why this site repeats “we name it, you file it.”
There is no contact form that files paper or schedules a truck. How to order is the process. Call (513) 960-6003. FAQs cover the homeowner rule and the agreement. This page is the map of desks.
False alarms follow the city you actually live in
Cincinnati FARU’s ladder is public. ORC 505.511 is public for many township streets. Anderson’s waived fourth and fifth is public for Anderson. Covington’s erroneous-activation language is a Covington sentence. Other cities may warn, fine, or require verification. If your city requires a process, ADT’s handling has to match it. Ask on the quote whether your desk has a verification rule. Do not assume FARU’s 30-day grace applies in Mason. Do not assume ORC 505.511 applies in Newport. Do not assume a deleted or unpublished Kentucky user-permit means there is no false-alarm rule.
A professionally installed system with a driveway walkthrough is how you stay off every city’s false-alarm list. Entry delays that match an Oakley two-story hall are not the delays for a Downtown condo. Say the house type. Occupancy, not architecture. Kids, dogs, cleaners, garage openers — put them in the plan so the desk does not meet you for a toaster. School-day households false-trip when an early release dumps a teenager through a side door. Teach the code. School-day empties is why the hours matter. This page is who would be called.
Leftovers, transfers, and the name on the file
If you moved from a Hyde Park 45208 house to a Fort Thomas 41075 house, the FARU file does not travel. If you moved from Florence to Mason, the Florence file does not travel. New address, new office, new registration in your name. The leftover keypad may travel in the sense that we can often reuse hardware. The paper never does.
Photograph the panel. Order monitoring. Then file. Reverse that order and you register a system that is not live, or you go live on a system the city still has in the seller’s name. Builder leftovers in Mason and West Chester are the common Ohio version. Covington and Newport resales leave older panels too. Keep the plastic on the wall until we see the photo.
Landlords with one house in Price Hill and one in Newport cannot use one form for both. Tenants cannot use the homeowner promotion. Two addresses are two quotes and two desks.
School calendars do not choose the desk
Cincinnati Public Schools empty City of Cincinnati houses — Walnut Hills High, Withrow, Hyde Park School, Kilgour, and the rest of the CPS map. Indian Hill, Madeira, Wyoming, Mariemont, Sycamore, Mason, Forest Hills, Oak Hills, and Lakota empty suburban houses on their own calendars. Kenton County and Campbell County calendars empty Covington, Newport, and Fort Thomas. Boone County calendars empty Florence. The school name on the backpack is not the police desk. A Walnut Hills High household can live in the city or open-enroll from a suburb. Confirm the street. The school does not choose FARU versus a Kentucky hall. The address does.
We will not rank those districts. We will not lecture ratings. We will count unsupervised hours and then name the office that would take a dispatch. Schools for homeowners is the district map. The journal version is occupancy.
What we will not do on a line-address
We will not print a fake Covington annual permit because Cincinnati used to collect a biennial fee. We will not print a fake Newport $15 because another metro had a $15 suburb. We will not print a fake Fort Thomas or Florence number to make a table look complete. We will not tell you Cincinnati still collects the old biennial user-registration fee after March 15, 2022. We will not tell you FARU registration is optional inside the city. Honesty is the comparison.
We will not hide the monitoring price while we talk paper. $49.99* and up, $99 install on many plans, $850 equipment promo on qualifying monitoring*, 36 months. We will not take a form. We will not take a tenant on the homeowner promotion. We will not scare-sell the river. Citywide CPD figures from Interim Chief Adam Hennie (FOX19, September 9, 2026) — homicides down 25 percent year to date, robberies down nearly 20 percent — are context for the 2026 safety article. They are not a reason to file the wrong PDF. They are not a Covington rate. They are not a Florence rate. We do not invent neighborhood or NKY rates.
Hyde Park shoppers, Mason closers, and the commute that is not paperwork
Hyde Park and Oakley households file FARU when the address is City of Cincinnati, then commute to Mason or Florence and think the paper moved. It did not. Mason leftover keypads file Mason’s process. Florence leftover keypads file Florence’s process. Commute is not paperwork. East-side porch packages is a stoop article, not a permit article. The stoop still needs a door contact. The contact still needs the right desk behind it.
A Masterson-style confusion here is West Chester versus Mason versus Fairfield. Shopping at Union Centre is not a police desk. A 45069 house is not FARU. A 45208 house is not Mason. Say the street. The install window does not depend on you finishing the paper first. The paper still needs to be right after. Give ADT whatever confirmation you have so the name on the account matches the name the desk would call.
If a title company asks for “the alarm permit” at closing, do not invent a Kentucky dollar to make the file look complete. Tell them which office applies. If the system is not live yet, say that. Closing can happen without a fake permit. Monitoring should happen the week you occupy. Those are different clocks.
Relocations across the river and leftover stickers
Job-cycle families hop from Oakley to Fort Thomas, from West Chester to Hyde Park, from Florence to Mason. Each hop is a new desk. The sticker on the panel is a previous company’s phone number. Photograph it. Do not call the 800 number and cancel an account you do not understand. Order on (513) 960-6003. File in your name.
Same-day or next-day is common in the Ohio Cincinnati territory when the calendar is open. Cross-river windows are confirmed on the call. Duke Energy Ohio versus Duke Energy Kentucky is confirmed on the call. Cellular path is the outage question on both sides. Paper is the desk question on both sides. None of those is a contact form.
How to get the right desk on the record
Call (513) 960-6003. ZIP and street. House versus condo. Cameras yes or no. Leftover keypad photo. Hear the monthly number and the office name. SafeStreets installs. ADT monitors 24/7. You register with FARU if you are in the City of Cincinnati — no invented annual dollar after March 15, 2022, still a real registration, still a published false-alarm ladder, still (513) 352-1272. You treat townships as ORC 505.511 unless the township has published its own twist, the way Anderson has. You confirm independent Ohio cities and Covington, Newport, Fort Thomas, or Florence if you are in those cities. You do not invent Kentucky permit dollars.
Greater Cincinnati homeowners can trust a SafeStreets security system monitored by ADT. The form is local. The monitoring company is ADT. The ZIP is how you keep those two from getting mixed up on closing week. The river is a desk change. It is not a reason to skip the door contact.
